Album Drop Tuesday: Ne-Yo, Lupe Fiasco, 2 Chainz, Lil’ Wayne, and Joey Bada$$

We have an array of gentlemen giving us new music this week. Lupe is keeping us conscious, Joey is the newcomer to the block and R&B veteran Ne-Yo is giving us something to swoon over. I also added a couple of must-have mixtapes from 2 of our favorite rappers. Let’s see what we have this week!25956-non-fictionNe-Yo and his signature fedora are back on the scene with a new album, hot off the presses. R&B’s favorite gentleman has been keeping busy since his last album R.E.D. by doing his usual songwriting, and also song features. Non-Fiction is Ne-Yo’s sixth studio album and will have appearances from T.I., Schoolby Q, Pitbull, Juicy J and Jeezy. You know the album is hot because Dr. Luke is one of the producers on the project. You can expect every emotion and situation to be covered from the tracks on this album. Spotify is holding a live stream of the album right now and it’s also ready and available in stores and on iTunes.

Tetsuo & Youth is every indication that we needed to verify that Lupe Fiasco is the same old Lupe Fiasco, just re-focused and re-energized. This album gives fans that nostalgic taste of Lupe’s first album, Food & Liquor. This album almost didn’t happen thanks to his label Atlantic Records, but we thank the music gods and the hacker group ‘Anonymous’ that it did happen. The album takes part in four series that reflect the seasons, and features many artist such as Nikki Jean, Ab-Soul, Trae Tha Truth, Ty Dolla $ign, and Guy Sebastion. You will be truly disappointed if you miss out on the knowledge Lupe spits on this project. Don’t say I didn’t tell you.

Finally making his album debut after being delayed a few months, Joey Bada$$ is ready to bring back the old New York hip-hop feel. Under his independent label/ group Cinematic Music Group and Pro Era, the 20 year-old’s B4 Da $$ is already making waves in the industry. Some have underestimated him because of his age, but Joey is not new to this having released his first mixtape at age 16. Don’t sleep on the youngin’.

In lieu of Carter V being held hostage by Daddy Birdman, Lil’ Wayne has offered up the greatest apology to fans in the form of Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape. After hearing the tracks on the tape, *Andrew Caldwell voice* you won’t be mad no more! Yeah we want Carter V, but this will hold you over until Birdman and Wayne get past their little tiff. Wayne brings on a few artists from the Young Money lineup including Drake, Mack Maine, Shanell and his boo thang Christina Milian with their version of ‘Drunk In Love.’ They tried it. Stream, and download the mixtape here.

Based off of the album planned to drop from 2 Chainz in a few months, we’re going to call this a warm-up for the big game. Tity Boi has recruited some of Atlanta’s finest trapper rappers, added them to his new T.R.U. label, and have gotten the team together to release The Real University: #TRUJackCity mixtape. Travis Porter, Young Dolph, Bankroll Fresh and Skooly are a few of the members of the newly structured label. Chainz promised that he stays ‘tru’ on this tape, keeping the real, the ratchet, and the trapping at the forefront. Bring out your inner trapstar when you stream, listen and download the hot new music here.
