After many months of anticipation, Super Bowl LI has finally made it to H-Town! The big game will bring many events, celebrities and excitement to the city, so why not get in on all the action taking place? Here are a few activities you can get into during Super Bowl 2017 week here in Houston.
NFL Experience – January 28 through February 5 – There is plenty to see and do at the NFL Experience, an event that has been labeled as pro football’s interactive theme park. Each day holds a unique adventure for fans. I had the opportunity to preview the NFL Experience and it is a great time for all ages to enjoy. From running football plays, to seeing what an NFL locker room, and even brushing up on your NFL history, you nor your family will leave this attraction disappointed. The event kicks off on January 28th with the arrival of the Vince Lombardi trophy and is open each day through the leading up to the Super Bowl Game. Super Bowl LIVE – January 30 through Feb 5- Being the main attraction for fans and Houstonians alike to enjoy, Super Bowl LIVE is a free fan festival that is held in and around Discovery Green. There’s so much to do and see each and everyday from the Future Flight virtual reality ride, ice skating, interactive games and daily live music concerts. Sway In The Morning Live Broadcast – February 2, 7am-11am – The hottest hip-hop satellite radio show Sway In the Morning will have a live broadcast Thursday morning at Prospect Park Galleria. This a free event and completely open to the public, just make sure you get there early!
The Breakfast Club Live Broadcast – February 3, 7am -11am – The country’s craziest morning show trio will be broadcasting live Friday morning from Prospect Park Galleria. Again, a totally free event, just need to be there early.
The Houston Power Party – Thursday, Feb. 2 at 10 pm – This star-studded event is hosted by Houston City Council Member Larry Green in partnership with the Santana Dotson Foundation and the Moran Norris Foundation. Although tickets start at $100, it will be well worth your money and time! Taking place at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, this will be a large scale collaboration of art, fashion, music and sports. There will be plenty to do with many interactive exhibits, special guests including Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and legendary rapper Scarface, and upscale atmosphere in one of the most memorable venues in the city. Super Bowl Gospel Celebration – February 3 – This event is the only inspirational music event put on by the NFL. Hosted by David and Tamela Mann, a star studded lineup of performers is expected including the NFL Choir, Lecrae, and CeCe Winans. Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will be live-recorded to be aired on BET on Super Bowl Sunday. The event brings key NFL players and top artists together on one stage for uplifting music and inspirational messages. Purchase tickets to the event.
Techno Bowl – February 3 at 1pm to 6pm – This spectacular event takes place at the Houston Museum of African American Art and will feature NFL Players-turned-techies Mike Brown and Timothy Johnson. It’s held in an effort to teach the community the importance of investing in entrepreneurs and highlighting the technological advancement taking place in the Houston area. Techno Bowl is a great event for children to become more aware of the many opportunities available in the STEM field and it’s free! RSVP here!
Proof Rooftop Lounge – One of Houston’s most popular Midtown bars will be the place to be this week as many celebrity guests come out and celebrate the big game. Each night features different celebrity hosts and there’s even a big Daybreak Party on Saturday with a lineup of big-name guests and dj’s. See who’s coming out for the party.

Glitz & Gridiron Party – Saturday, Feb. 4 at 9pm-3am- This … Held at the historic Buffalo Soldiers National Museum, loads of celebrity guests will be in attendance including Lance Gross and LeToya Luckett. One of Houston’s greatest nightlife influencers, Aristocrat Life has a huge line up of events for the entire weekend taking place at various upscale venues across the city including Prospect Park, Engine Room and Drake’s pop-up club The Ballet. Lil’ Wayne & Celebrity Friends “Undisputed” 2017 Super Bowl Party – Saturday, February 4 – Your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper will be taking the stage Super Bowl weekend, maybe for the last time. No word yet on who his “celebrity friends” are, but we all know Wayne is well connected. The concert and party will be at the Ayva Center.
The 2017 NFL Player’s Ball – Saturday, February 4 – With more than 100 NFL players expected in attendance, you can bet this will be the place to meet industry greats! Player’s Ball will feature DJ Havoc and MC Kut, keeping the party rocking all night. You can buy tickets and RSVP here.
Club Nomadic – This 3-story nightclub is clearly the place to be. Located just outside of Downtown Houston at Sawyer Yards, Club Nomadic will feature popular artists each night in addition to being on of the hottest spots in town to dance the night away. General admission starts $100 at and prices increase for tiered mezzanines, sections, and a private experience for VIP ticket holders. Breakfast Klub – Late Night Hours 10 pm to 3 am – When you’re done doing it big with all of your celeb friends each night and you happen to get a little hungry or need something to soak up the alcohol, Houston’s favorite breakfast spot has special hours for the big weekend. In addition to their regular day time hours, The Breakfast Klub will reopen their doors at 10 pm and stay open until 3 am every night starting Thursday night through Sunday night. You never know who may stop to get a late bite as this is one of the city’s staple restaurants. Make an effort to stop by and get you some chicken and waffles!
